Description
- Juveniles are younger than a year old
- Male: dark blue with brown and yellow patterns on wings for juveniles, will get plumage at 2 years old.

- Hen lays 3-7 eggs and incubates for 24-27 days
- Male: 31 inches in length, blue- purple chest, belly, and rump, white nape, red wattles, white tail feathers and crest, has red legs
- Females: have small red patch around eyes and bright red legs, Plumage is gray and goldish brown with pattern of barring and lacing, tails are brown with cinnamon and reddish tones
- Very hardy and adaptable
